Simply Irresistible: One week until my Grammy Beauty Bar officially kicks-off, starting with a cocktail party co-hosted with Cristophe at his salon in Beverly Hills next Thursday.  The buzz is growing; can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.

In the lead up to the big event, it feels appropriate to pay homage to another source of inspiration, the late Robert Palmer.  One of the defining icons of the MTV age (and a Grammy winner), his videos left an indelible mark on fashion & beauty.  Dark slicked back hair, red lips, dramatic eyes.  The look is still emulated in fashion campaigns today (think Lanvin and Tom Ford).

The videos themselves borrowed heavily from the influence of artist Patrick Nagel, who’s most famous for his cover of Duran Duran’s Rio album.  Part punk, part 80s rock, part Art Deco… the list goes on.  Chic, chic, chic to the end.
